Visiting Our Churches
A Place of Peace and Welcome
Our churches are open throughout the week as places of quiet, prayer, and stillness. Whether you come to sit in silence, light a candle, explore local heritage, or simply enjoy a moment of calm, you are warmly invited to step inside.
Opening Times
Our buildings are open regularly for private prayer and quiet visiting:
- Hampsthwaite – open daily
- Birstwith – open daily
- Killinghall – open Monday to Friday
- Felliscliffe (Chapel of Ease) – open for services and special events
If you find a church closed unexpectedly, it may be due to volunteer availability or essential maintenance.
What to Expect
Our churches are simple, peaceful spaces. You are welcome to:
- sit quietly and pray
- light a candle
- enjoy the stillness
- explore the building respectfully
- read the prayer resources available
Please help us keep these spaces safe and welcoming for everyone.

- Hampsthwaite – a church with medieval roots at the heart of the village.
- Birstwith – a welcoming Victorian church serving a lively community.
- Killinghall – a historic parish church with strong village connections.
- Felliscliffe – a simple rural Chapel of Ease with a gentle, prayerful atmosphere.
